In remembrance of the 73rd Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge Thunder Ranch will have a Winter Combat Rifle Course on December 14-16, 2017.Limited research shows that a nominal 50%+/- of the United States has the potential for freezing weather and harsh weather conditions at least five or six months of the year. These conditions can be extremely hard to fight and potentially defend your family in. Historically we train in the best weather we can, very few people wait for the worst weather to go out and train up in. It is one thing to get caught in a rain storm and finish up the day’s IPSC Match, but it may be another to dedicate to a format that tests the mettle of the participant and more importantly the choice of equipment, rifles, magazines, Load Bearing Gear, in a repeated training program in inclement weather conditions. Class will consist of tactical movement courses in built up areas, in wooded areas, in hilly (like up and down) areas, and in “cut’em off at the pass exercises,” as well as shooting to 700 yards. $900
- Think Bulge, Bastogne, Ardennes, Stalingrad, Leningrad, The Winter War, Attu, Chosin.
- RIFLE: Whatever you think will work in shit weather.
- AMMO: Nominal 700 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION- No AP, no Tracer, Frangible NOT needed.
- CLOTHING: Really? COLD, SNOW, WET, REPEAT. Snow camo, whites, poncho, etc.
Notices: It is important TO KNOW AND CONFIRM your ammunition type NO armor piercing /steel core or tracer ammunition is allowed in this course…it is dangerous and that is good and it’s supposed to be, but not in this format, it will create fires, fragmentation and will ruin armored targets.
