While many people own handguns, most people do not know how to effectively use them. The Defensive Handgun course addresses fundamental skills of gun safety, drawing, loading, and malfunctions, as well as many other topics.
Some more complex skills such as firing at extended distance, shooting and moving, basic tactics, low light handgun operation (handheld tactical-style flashlight required, button on tail-cap), and other issues specific to the defensive use of a handgun are also covered in this class.
The DH class is a great place to start for students new to handgun shooting, students new to professional training with handguns, or even well-trained individuals looking to brush up on the core fundamentals and explore different concepts related to the doctrine of the school.
This course is condensed into 2 days for West Virginia from the normal 3-day course at the ranch. Come prepared to work hard both days. This class serves as a prerequisite for other classes.
