WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO IN THE CLASS

So you bought night vision gear, you went to a basic or even more advanced class… now what? This course will challenge both newer users and those with more experience. Professional end users..this is a great time to train on older skills and explore new ones.


This course will focus on the integration of pistol and rifle, multiple runs in the Terminator, and working in and around vehicles, among other topics all under the instruction of Clint and Thunder Ranch’s experienced staff.


Come prepared for long days and nights, and be ready to spend a great deal of time conducting movements in wooded, rural, and urban environments…and shooting…lots of shooting.


The big “takeaways” for this class:

Knowledge of the chosen night vision device’s full capabilities

Conducting movements and clearing inside structures

Vehicular considerations

Team movements

Pre Reqs: Attendance of Thunder Ranch Urban Rifle-Night Vision or its equivalent from a reputable source (TNVC, DARC, Amtac, Tap Rack Tactical, etc.) This will be judged on a case by case basis.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE CLASS

Minimum Gear Requirements :

Bump or Ballistic Helmet with Night Vision Mount (skull crusher or night cap is ok.)

Rifle or PCC with sling, optic, white light, IR laser/Illuminator

Quality Head Mounted Night Vision Device

NOMINAL 1000 Rounds (frangible ammo is NOT required)

NOMINAL 200 Rounds NonFrangible Pistol

Minimum 6x Rifle Magazine

Handheld white light

Ear Protection

Clear Eye Protection

Weather Appropriate Clothing

3 Visible Chem Sticks (any color)

Additional Recommended Equipment:

Knee(highly encouraged)/Elbow Pads-We recommend pants with built in knee pads i.e. Crye Precision etc.

Helmet mounted IR and Visible Light

Head Lamp

Sturdy shoes or boots for austere terrain

Handgun with Retention Holster, red dot, weapon light or weapon mounted IR illuminator/laser.

AMMUNITION REQUIREMENTS: NOMINAL 1000 Rounds (frangible ammo is NOT required) Nominal 200 Rounds NonFrangible Pistol

NO GREEN TIPS, MAGNUMS, TRACERS.

NO STEEL CORE, .338s, OR ZIP GUNS

As a friendly reminder when traveling with suppressors and SBRs…in case you get pulled over etc. You are required to have the appropriate documentation with you.

CLINT SMITH

Clint Smith, President, and Director of Thunder Ranch® is a Marine Corps veteran of two infantry and Combined Action Platoon tours in Vietnam. His experience includes seven years as a police officer during which he served as head of the Firearms Training Division as well as being a S.W.A.T. member and precision rifleman.


He left law enforcement to serve as Operations Officer for the American Pistol Institute where he was Dean of instruction and was instrumental in range and curriculum development for A.P
